The application for the authorization to carry restricted firearmsmust be sponsored by an employer.

To stand out amongst other candidates, a person wishing to work in the transport of valuables should possess the following qualifications:

  • Holding a Secondary School Diploma (SSD) or equivalent, recognized by the Ministère de l’éducation et de l’enseignement supérieur;

  • Good team spirit, good analytical and customer service skills;
  • A keen sense of observation, and organisation, as well as a good ability to learn and adapt.

If you meet these criteria and are interested in transporting valuables, please click on the following link and apply for an armed guard position garda.com/careers or contact our head office at 514-281-2811

Your prior expertise may be an invaluable asset in the field. However, since the duties of a Security Guard are quite different from those of a member of a police or military force, and since legislation and regulations differ from one country to the next, training as a Security Guard is required to obtain your licence.
